Hello there!
Are you a international scout interested in experiencing a finnsih scout camp? Or prehaps you know someone who would be? Then this post is for you!
Glänta is a scoutcamp oragnized in Finland from 22-29 july 2026.
Glänta is a camp for all scouts in Finland, it is organized by swedish speaking finns, but open for everyone! Swedish speaking finns are a minority in Finland, about 6% of Finlands population speak swedish as a first language and of thoes 6% we are about 4 000 scouts. So quite a small minority on the world scale. For us from Finland this camp is very unique, since swedish speaking finns can be found all over Finalnd, but mainly around the coast. This means that this camp gathers scouts from literally all over Finland, we all differ from eachother on some scale. We share some tradtions and some have grown to completly new ones. Attending this camp is sure to expand your knowledge on world scouting, cultural diferences, languages, traditions and much more. Don't worry we still sing camp fire songs, tine knots, swim, sail and explore ;).
At this camp you get to experience a big finnish scout camp, we offer a vareity of different activities. From sailing and rock climbing to coding and first aid! You are sure to learn something new and expand on your exsisting knowlege. We also arrange tradtional activites such as camp fires, knots, competitions and cooking. So now is your chance to show of your skills!
Finland is attening the World Scout Jamboree in Poland in 2027, so maybe you want som finnish friends beforehand so that you can trade easly for our signature hat the "väiski"? Maybe already got your hands on one at Glänta. . . Still it would be nice to have some preexisting friends at the WSJ, and what greater way tomake some than to attend Glänta?
For international participants there needs to be one group leader who is over 18 for every 10 kids. The group leader makes the group registeration.
If you are travelling alone you still need to register a group, even if it has no members. (This is just for practical matters, it is more than ok to come alone or just with a couple of friends!), just make sure at least one of you is 18 years old.
If you have kids under the age of 7 you may register for our family camp, this allows familys with young children to expirience scouting together.
Please spread the word, even if you can't attend tell your friends to register. Scouting unites us all and meeting new friends all over the world is one of the many perks in attending scoutcamps around the world.
At Glänta we will speak swedish, english and finnish so don't let the language be a barrier for attending.
For questions please visit the international part of the webbiste or contact stefan.parvinen@scout.fi
We will see you at Glänta!
