Hälsningar från Schweiz

When we heard the fantastic news that we'd been invited to your camp Glänta, Finland, we were absolutely thrilled! Since our scouts were just as excited, we immediately started planning.

At this point, we would like to thank you again most sincerely for your invitation!

When we arrived at the campsite, we were initially quite surprised to see that you had pitched all your tents right in the middle of the forest. Back home in Switzerland, we always pitch them in open fields or wide grassy areas. But I really like your approach; the atmosphere with all the tents and the trees scattered among them is somehow magical and looks really cool! The only slightly odd thing was your somewhat unusual tents. You don't have floors in your tents? I don't know how you manage to survive all your camps without them! Being woken up in the middle of the night by hundreds of ants crawling all over my sleeping bag and skin wasn't exactly on my bucketlist for 2026:)

But otherwise, it was absolutely fantastic, and I was really impressed by how well you all manage to get some rest at night! The entire campsite was quiet, and we slept really well (which isn't often the case for us at home).

I REALLY love that you eat so often here in Finland. We get up, eat, have a short activity, then eat again, then do something else briefly, but then it's straight back to eating. There's always something to eat. Thanks to all these meals, I definitely never felt hungry or had a rumbling stomach.

We were all also incredibly impressed by the amazing sauna. Whoever built it deserves a Nobel Prize! Truly professional and breathtakingly beautiful! We felt like we were in a typical Finnish movie when we jumped into the cold water from the wooden jetty after the hot sauna! Lowkey, we're a little envious of you guys; some of you have told us that you have your own saunas at home! Enjoy it:)

Thank you so much for this wonderful experience and for all the new friendships we‘ve made with you!
